Agfa SnapScan 1212u USB scanner

Installation

Setting the scanner up is a snap (haha).  It uses a USB interface, so is almost plug and play.  Remove the transportation lock from the bottom of the scanner, hook it up to your PC via the USB cable (or indeed Mac if you’re that way inclined, it’s cross platform compatible), load the software bundle and you’re away.  The initial splash screen is not the most simple I’ve ever seen, and insists on playing you some irritating muzak, but apart from that software loading is trouble free.  It's probably best to install the full set of bundled software (yep, all three CDs worth) to start with, and then uninstall anything you don't like the look of later.
